  As a "latecomer" brand of smart door locks, Luke has developed for several years. They cut into the smart door lock industry from the perspective of Internet companies, and today, it has become one of the first-line brands in China. As the only product evaluation team in China, we have been paying attention to the smart door lock products of Luke brand. This time, the evaluation team chose the smart door lock of Luke Touch2 model and conducted the disassembly evaluation to see what are the differences of smart door lock products from the perspective of the Internet?

  As always, it continues the style of the Internet, which is simple without losing tonality. The carbon-gray outer packaging is very suitable for the brand tonality of Luke. Its interior is also made of environmentally friendly materials, which is very neat and tidy, which makes the evaluation team have great expectations for this product.

  Open the outer package, which contains six categories: accessory package, lock front and rear panels, six batteries, installation instructions, instructions for use, and installation size specifications. Among them, the front and rear panels have protective layers from decorative panels to handles, which is simple and clear, showing the careful production. The lock body is packaged separately, with independent screws, locking plates and locking boxes, which are placed outside the packaging box.

  It is greatly praised that the accessories configuration of this lock is the most complete found in the current evaluation, including screws, square rods, springs, special tools and so on, which basically covers all kinds of accessories with the thickness and requirements of the current domestic mainstream doors, avoiding the trouble that the accessories cannot be installed because they are not suitable during the installation process. At the same time, we also noticed that there are two cylinders with scales (red circle on the right), which have never been found by the evaluation team at present. Is it dedicated? In the process of final installation, the evaluation team discovered that it had this purpose, so let’s leave a suspense here.

  Hold it in your hand, the lock is very heavy, the main material is aluminum, extrusion +C process, and IML (in-mold injection technology) front and rear decorative plates are attached, which has a strong texture. From the appearance, the surface has been anodized, which is also very good in texture. Moreover, this lock inherits the spirit of Luke’s Internet smart door lock and is in the same strain as Luke’s touch series. It is simple, but generous. Although there are not many special features in the appearance, it can still be highly accepted by consumers, especially the target consumers of Luke.

  On the surface treatment, the detail treatment is in place, and the board is fully handled. The evaluation team found no pits, scratches, blisters, etc.

  Problems, at the same time, in the appearance of the joint, the fingerprint head and handle, acrylic and metal are also handled very carefully, and there is no uneven fit, falling off, unstable and other phenomena.

  Second, look at the process from disassembling.

  The appearance and function can be seen and felt by users, and its internal structure is the most important support for appearance and function, and it is also the most powerful guarantee for product quality. Good technology and structure have a direct relationship with product safety and quality. What is the inherent workmanship and technology of Luke’s Touch lock? Let’s take it apart and open it.

  First of all, the most important structural part is the lock body. Touch2 uses an electronic lock body with a built-in clutch lock body, which supports the function of hook between heaven and earth. It is very heavy to hold in the hand and has a strong feeling of falling. The evaluation team found that the stress parts of the lock tongue, lock shell and handle are made of stainless steel, which enhances the durability and is the mainstream structure adopted by the lock body of high-end intelligent door locks at present. At the same time, the inductive lock tongue at the bottom of the lock tongue end is mainly used to judge the locked state of the door.

  At the same time, the evaluation team found that there are several sensors inside the lock body, which should be used to judge the state of the lock tongue. Later, it was found that this was true in the use evaluation. At the same time, the evaluation team also found that the Touch2 lock body was treated with anti-sawing (as shown in the red circle below), which increased the safety and greatly enhanced the ability to prevent violent opening. Generally speaking, the lock body has a beautiful appearance and solid materials. However, compared with the panel connection line, the lock body connection line is a little thin.

  Secondly, in the spirit of disassembling artisans, let the products guard life, and the evaluation reflects the beauty of the products. The evaluation team disassembled the front and back panels, and carefully observed the workmanship and technology level inside Touch2 to see if it was as neat as the appearance.

  Take off the plastic cushion of the front panel, and observe the front panel protection board. The anti-prying gate is located above the panel, and the height is quite satisfactory. The protection board is painted in the same color as that commonly used in mid-to high-end smart door locks, which is very consistent with the panel. At the same time, every screw hole is chamfered (as shown in the right below), which is very good, and the fixing screws are the most encountered in the current evaluation, with a total of ten, which is very firm.

  The evaluation team opened the front panel and found that the overall layout of Touch2 is very reasonable, which corresponds to the front-end use. The upper part is the electronic part including the motherboard and touchpad (password keys and NFC identification), and the middle and lower part is the mechanical part of the handle and the fingerprint module structure (fingerprint reading). In the second half, we found an electronic component, but we didn’t find its use. It feels like a sensor protected by a lock core, and the bottom part is the emergency mechanical unlocking structure and USB emergency charging port (emergency opening). The internal wiring is very neat, and I don’t see any flying lines and disorderly wiring points. All wires have special fixing devices on both sides, which is very appropriate, effectively preventing the occurrence of quality failure due to scratch line.

  As can be seen from the electronic part, the materials of Touch2 are very solid, all kinds of components are produced by international first-line manufacturers, and the wiring layout is also very reasonable. The three-proof paint of the whole board is painted very evenly, and there is no naked phenomenon. The connectors are also treated with waterproof glue (red circle on the left below), which protects the connectors very well and ensures the electronic stability of the application of smart door locks in complex environments.

  The evaluation team also found that a button battery (red circle in the middle below), which is rare in smart door locks, was added to the main board of Touch2, which was judged to be adapted to the new industry standard of anti-theft locks. At the same time, Touch2, as a handle fingerprint unlocking function, added a structural device with a small spring leaf (red circle in the right below) to prevent the wire from shaking and pulling at will, thus ensuring that the handle fingerprint head can be used for a long time. The whole handle structure adopts the torsion structure that is mature and applied in the industry at present, and the material is also very solid, which ensures the service life of the product.

  The whole lower part is mostly mechanical structure. The evaluation team found that Luke’s emergency lock core belongs to multi-track C-class lock, which has strong anti-technical opening ability. Its emergency opening structure is also different from that of most manufacturers, and the gear reversing device used by a few manufacturers (pictured on the right) is adopted, which enhances the ability of preventing violence, technical opening and ghost horse opening. In the bottom panel structure, Touch2, as the flagship lock series of Luke, has been carefully protected against drilling and added with anti-drill device, which has enhanced the safety of the machinery. At the same time, the USB emergency opening device has also been sealed with plastic (shown on the left in the figure below), which has done enough environmental protection homework such as dust prevention and waterproof.

  The decorative plate of the rear panel adopts the structure of buckle+magnetic attraction, and there is a buckle opening button at the bottom of the rear panel, which effectively ensures the fit between the decorative plate and the panel, and looks very good in texture, simple and practical. Inside the decorative plate, a battery cover plate is added to prevent it from falling off, which is a very good design and effectively prevents the battery from falling off when the door is forcibly closed. However, the evaluation team also found a problem that is not a problem. Perhaps it is to cooperate with the IML panel as a whole. The battery cover is designed as a push-up buckle, which is a little pinch when it is taken down and requires a little skill in installation, which brings some trouble to replacing the battery. However, considering the long battery life of this lock, the frequency of replacement is not high, and the firmness is optional, it is acceptable.

  After the decorative board is removed, you can see the QR code and the shortcut buttons for setting and resetting buttons, which is more convenient for setting and downloading the APP. After the rear panel protection board is disassembled, it is the same neat, the same layout and the same regularity, and the overall structure is similar to that of the front panel. The upper part is a battery compartment (for installing batteries), the middle part is a network electronic unit (network connection antenna), the middle and lower part is a handle structure (locking device), and the lower part is an anti-lock button structure, which corresponds to the front of the rear panel. Among them, the evaluation team found a unique structure, which is located behind the handle and has a cat-eye prevention structure locking device. After opening, it can skip the cat-eye prevention function and directly press the handle to open the door.

  3. Installation and functional use

  Touch2 adopts the lock body of standard 60 series size, which conforms to the specifications of locks used by most mainstream door factories at present. The handle reversing is very simple, and only one screw (red circle in the lower left picture) is needed to realize the reversing function. With the installation size specification drawing and installation instructions, users with strong hands-on ability can install it themselves. It took the evaluation team only ten minutes to install the lock on the standard lock frame, without even using special tools such as cutting tools. During the installation process, the evaluation team found that the cylinder in the first picture is of great use. The original two cylinders are used to keep the lock body and the panel in balance, which can effectively prevent the difficult opening or poor experience caused by the unsynchronized panel and lock body. This design is not exquisite.

  Function use: Touch2 is a semi-automatic handle fingerprint lock, and the handle needs to be lifted for anti-lock. The use functions include: fingerprint unlocking, password unlocking, NFC smart card unlocking, mobile phone Bluetooth unlocking, emergency mechanical key unlocking, mobile phone APP (Luke Intelligent) setting unlocking status, information push, electronic anti-lock and many other functions. Among them, the handle has a ring indicator light, red-fingerprint verification failed; Green-fingerprint verification passed; Blue-in the set state; Orange-upgrading is under way or electronic anti-lock is turned on; Multi-color marquee-complete reset.

  All the functions are evaluated one by one by the evaluation team, and the mobile phone APP that interests the evaluation team is one of the most friendly UI interfaces of the APP in the evaluation team’s evaluation of smart door locks at present. It can be called a fool operation from registration to use, and at the same time, all the functions such as fingerprint, password and credit card can be set on the mobile phone, which can be linked with other devices of Luke Intelligent. The function settings are simple and clear, which is very user-friendly. The most interesting function is the password setting function, which takes into account the needs of many real users, including remote one-time sharing (temporary password), time-limited, time-limited, periodic and permanent, and the relevant settings are simple and clear.

  However, what makes the evaluation team vomit a little bit is that when recording fingerprints on the mobile phone, the settings on the mobile phone are very user-friendly. In order to ensure a better experience, an image method similar to setting fingerprints on the mobile phone is adopted. As it turns out, the fingerprint experience of Touch2 is really good, but it takes the evaluation team eight times to succeed when entering fingerprints, which is still slightly higher than the industry average of about five times. Secondly, the evaluation team didn’t have a gateway during the sampling process, and it didn’t explicitly need a gateway. It just suggested in the manual that some functions need to be matched with a gateway, which led to the inability to evaluate several functions that need a gateway, such as the state of the switch door, information push, and equipment linkage, which made the evaluation team feel that there was something wrong.

  Fourth, the overall evaluation

  After unpacking, disassembling, installing and functional evaluation, the evaluation team found that Luke Touch2 is a smart door lock with Internet genes. On the basis of grasping the technology, the practical functions and senses put more emphasis on the user’s experience and the details of the technology, and at the same time, it has the characteristics of safety and durability of the lock. A large number of mature structures and innovative applications to enhance the experience are adopted in the internal structure, which is at the level of domestic first-class flagship machine.
