On February 27th, Chongqing Municipal Market Supervision Bureau introduced that it organized and formulated the Catalogue of Quality and Safety Supervision of Key Industrial Products in Chongqing in 2023, which is now released, involving 13 categories and 227 products.
During the formulation of the Catalogue, according to the regulatory practice and changes in the situation, the quality and safety supervision catalogue of key industrial products was dynamically adjusted to include products with high public concern, highlighting products related to human health and personal and property safety, important industrial products affecting the national economy and people’s livelihood, products with low qualified rate in the past and key products with quality problems reported by consumers and relevant organizations.
The products listed in the Catalogue include: electronic and information technology products, household appliances and electrical accessories, light industrial products, children’s products, clothing, shoes and hats and household textiles, cultural and educational sporting goods, furniture and building decoration materials, agricultural means of production, industrial means of production, transportation appliances and related products, food-related products, metering products, gas appliances and accessories, etc. There are 227 kinds in 13 categories. For example, children’s electronic watches, children’s safety seats, smart locks, automobiles, automotive lead-acid batteries, etc.
According to the Report on the Analysis of Accepting Consumer Complaints in 2022 issued by the Chongqing Consumer Protection Committee, in 2022, the Chongqing Consumer Protection Committee system accepted a total of 27,070 consumer complaints. Quality, contract, after-sales service, price and safety are still the most concerned issues of consumers, accounting for 70.30% of the total complaints.
Among the complaints about commodities, food, daily commodities, transportation and so on rank in the top three, followed by household appliances. In accepting service complaints, life, social services, education and training services and sales services are in the top three.
The relevant person in charge of the Chongqing Municipal Market Supervision Bureau said that it will carefully organize and carry out product quality supervision and spot checks according to the spot check plan, timely announce the results of spot checks, investigate and deal with violations of product quality according to law, and timely organize special supervision and spot checks on unplanned products in light of actual conditions.
